Major Tease!!

I was so excited today at work when I saw this.

My new running shoes were waiting for me at the front desk. I got even more excited when I saw this.

Sadly, they are the wrong size and I need to wait another week before I get new shoes. :-(

The Demise of a Running Streak

With the 4th of July, moving to another state and what might have been a migraine, my running streak came to an early end. Now my new life in Houston will coincide with my new running streak.

Pets at Work!

How did I not know that June 21st was Take Your Dog to Work Day!? It wouldn't have really mattered this year, but it would have been a good conversation starter and a way to test the waters. I really hope that one day I will have a job that lets me bring a dog to work and a dog that has the right temperament for days in the office. I am very much looking forward to getting myself settled enough in Houston to start looking for the perfect canine running partner.

I have two friends who currently bring their dogs to work everyday, and neither of them works in a super pet friendly field. One is an engineer and the other works in finance. This gives me hope that if I ever get the courage to ask I might be able to pull this off. Here's to hoping!

Do any of you regularly bring your pets to work? Does anyone here have a 4-legged running partner? If so what breed?

100 Miles and Wild Animals

My last run in June pushed me over the 100 mile mark for the month for the first time since I started keeping count! I am sure I have done so before when training for a marathon but I didn't record it so it doesn't count.

Also, while running through a densely populated subdivision tonight I ran past a mother and baby deer. We had a bit of a staring contest. I let them win.

How often do you see wildlife on your runs?
